The good folks over at Bloody Disgusting are teaming up with Storm King Productions to develop and launch two original scripted podcasts under the banner celebrating horror maestro John Carpenter.

The first eight-episode scripted series, titled John Carpenter Presents: Something Wicked is created by Read W. Ridley and produced by 12 Angry Bears, with executive producer Sandy King. The series, which is reportedly inspired by real events, blends supernatural horror with investigative drama and follows a young historian and a seasoned detective investigating paranormal crimes in New Orleans.

New episodes of Something Wicked will premiere every other Sunday. While you listen to John Carpenter Presents: Something Wicked, now available right here, keep your eyes peeled for further details on Bloody Disgusting and Storm King Productions' second original John Carpenter Presents podcast.

Here's what Storm King Productions CEO Sandy King has to say of the new spooky series:

“Storm King Productions got its start in podcasting with Roanoke Falls (2003 Signal Award Winner) and it’s a form we’ve wanted to revisit […] Read Ridley brought us a compelling story rooted in New Orleans, drawing on local talent and the genuine spooky atmosphere of bayou folklore. It's a story that provides a grand way for our return to fiction podcasting. John and I are thrilled to partner with Cineverse to do that.”

Pacific Obadiah, Head of Original Programming for the Cineverse Podcast Network, adds:

“At Cineverse, we believe in the power of audio storytelling, and fiction podcasts. We’re incredibly excited to bring stories like Something Wicked to our listeners across the globe. This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for our podcast network […] From our success with other fiction podcasts, like “Dead Space: Deep Cover,” and “Mayfair Watchers Society,” we know horror enthusiasts are looking for thrilling and authentic storytelling, which we hope to deliver!”

John Carpenter Presents follows last month's exciting news that The Thing and Halloween legend is his first original graphic novel debut this summer with Cathedral – find out more about that right here.
