With the sheer amount of horror games on the market now, it’s hard to find any with truly unique premises — but Eldelic Games is here to change that. They’ve just launched Inky Blinky Bob, a new action adventure game that blends first-person shooters with surrealist horror for a truly unique gaming experience.

Players step into the role of a detective investigating mysterious signals coming from a remote island chain, home to the secretive biotech corporation Quantum Corp. But when things quickly begin to spiral, they’ll uncover failed experiments, mutated monsters, and mysterious entities that they’ll have to battle with help from their special weaponized hot air balloon that allows them to travel between islands and discover just what the nefarious corporation is up to.

The game’s mechanics move between on-foot exploration and sailing across the skies in players’ balloons, which can support mounted weapons for airborne combat — including with the titular Inky Blinky Bob, a massive flying octopus that looms over the archipelago. As players gather materials and scavenge for arts, they can upgrade their balloon against increasing threats, all while trying to uncover the truth at the center of Quantum Corp.

“At launch, we’re incredibly proud to finally share this strange world with players,” said Miroslav Ilić, Eldelic Games’ CEO. “Inky Blinky Bob was born from a desire to create something eerie, explosive, and deliberately absurd. Balancing dread with dark humour, the game invites players to embrace both the chaos and the comedy.”

Inky Blinky Bob is just the latest in a long line of horror games that have hit Steam and other various platforms this year. Resident Evil Requiem was the biggest of the bunch, but Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 also stirred up a good amount of buzz, leading the way for absurdist games like those offered by Eldelic.

Inky Blinky Bob is available now on Steam, retailing for $14.99, though fans can get a 15% discount to celebrate the game’s launch for a limited time only.
