They’ve got the classic Universal Monsters and they’ve got Jason, but the creators behind the new Hellbreak card game aren’t stopping there. Today, Spin Masters announced that they’re collaborating with Paramount Pictures to add several newer horror icons to the game’s deck, including characters from A Quiet Place, Sleepy Hollow, and Smile.

The new cards will feature some of the most gruesome moments and characters from the Paramount Scares label, including A Quiet Place’s Death Angels, the Headless Horseman, and the Smile demon in all its bloody glory. The Paramount expansion joins a handful of iconic monsters already featured in the upcoming game, including The Bride of Frankenstein, Jason Voorhees, Dracula, and even Bruce the shark from Jaws.

“We’ve set out to create an unprecedented lineup of horror IP for Hellbreak to deliver a trading card game experience like no other,” said Spin Master’s Doug Wadleigh. “Adding Paramount Pictures’ deep catalogue of terrifying monsters will elevate the gameplay experience and we’re eager to see how players use these iconic characters when building their decks.”

Much like Pokémon, where players can collect creatures to battle against one another, Hellbreak will allow players to bring together a team of Universal Monsters from across the studio’s history, pitting them against one another in the “Monster Sandbox,” where they can fight to the bitter end. The inaugural deck launches in January 2027, featuring over two hundred cards across seven distinct properties, giving players access to dynamic modes of gameplay.

“Hellbreak was designed to feel dangerous, cinematic, and endlessly replayable,” said Christian T. Petersen, the game’s lead designer. “Every monster, mechanic, and aspect is built to create unforgettable and terrifying moments at the table — the kind players will be talking about long after the match ends.”
