Fresh off killing the Valentine's Day box office and hitting Digital earlier this month, Josh Ruben's romantic slasher Heart Eyes is heading to Blu-ray and DVD on April 15 – and we've got an exclusive BTS clip showing how the now-iconic van scene came to life.
Written by Phillip Murphy (The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard), Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) and Michael Kennedy (Freaky, It's a Wonderful Knife), Heart Eyes stars Mason Gooding (Scream), Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer), Gigi Zumbado (The Real Bros of Simi Valley), Michaela Watkins (Dinner with the Parents), Jordana Brewster (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) and Final Destination and Chucky‘s Devon Sawa.
“For the past several years, the Heart Eyes Killer has wreaked havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples. This Valentine’s Day, no couple is safe.”
One such couple can be seen falling victim to the Heart Eyes Killer in our exclusive clip today, which goes behind the scenes of what the crew referred to as the “Beater Van” sequence. Below you'll see how Ruben, DoP Stephen Murphy and the FX team created the bloody scene as part of the “Murders & Meet Cutes: The Making of Heart Eyes” extra included on the Blu-ray release.
