Halloween Horror Nights is quickly approaching, and Universal Studios Hollywood has just announced the piece de resistance of the scares that await guests this year. The West Coast park just revealed that the spirits of a classic film will haunt guests in their Poltergeist house, along with a stunt show themed after The Purge, four new scare zones, and an all-new makeover for the classic Terror Tram that guests look forward to every year.
The Poltergeist house, based on the 1982 cult classic of the same name, will transport audiences into the Freeling family home, allowing them to relive one of the scariest films of all time as they encounter spirits from beyond the grave. To get there, theyโll have to trek through four petrifying scare zones, including dodging killers in โChainsaw Clownsโ before they escape a maniacal fun house in โCarnival of Carnage.โ Additionally, the โNoche de Brujasโ scare zone appears at the exit of the Monstrous 3: The Ghosts of Latin America house, and the popular scare zone โMurder of Crowzโ will also be making an reappearance.
The Purge: Dangerous Waters returns to the venue that hosts the parkโs popular WaterWorld show during the day, taking guests on a fiery, rocket-fueled adventure while they fight to survive the night. But the big change coming to the event this year is the Terror Tram, now titled Enter the Blumhouse. Located on Universalโs historic backlot, this iteration of the attraction will allow visitors to disembark the Studio tour tram to encounter some of Blumhouseโs most iconic villains, including M3GAN, Happy Death Dayโs Babyface Killer, The Black Phoneโs Grabber, and more. Guests who purchase R.I.P. Tour tickets will also be able to have exclusive meet and greets with some of the Terror Tram characters.
These new experiences join an already killer lineup of houses and attractions for this yearโs even, including haunted houses for Fallout, Five Nights at Freddyโs, and Terrifier, as well as a Jason Universe house, and WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks. Several of the parkโs iconic attractions will also be open during Halloween Horror Nights, including Super Nintendo World, Transformers: The Ride, Revenge of the Mummy, and more.
Halloween Horror Nights begins in Hollywood on September 4, running select dates through November 2, and tickets are available for purchase now.
