Horror fans, it's time to rally as a community! You can help out a fellow fan and watch a world premiere of the new 4K restoration of Fright Night Part 2. Red Shirt Home Video, Synapse Films, The Spooky Picture Show, and Cinema Salem are joining forces to present a special benefit screening May 23 at Cinema Salem in Salem, Massachusetts. Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to support Erich Gamache and his family following his recent cancer diagnosis.

“This screening is being held to benefit our friend, Erich Gamache, who has been fighting bravely against an aggressive form of cancer for the last year.  He has been an essential and valued member of our online gaming group for years and is one of our favorite people on the planet” shared Michael Felsher of Red Shirt Home Video. “All the proceeds from this special screening will assist him and his family in their battle against the disease. We love you, Erich, and we hope that this event provides you with some help during this difficult time.”

“This is a chance for the horror community to do what it does best – come together,” said Chris MacGibbon of The Spooky Picture Show podcast. “We’re honored to present the world premiere of this restoration, but more importantly, we’re honored to do it in support of our friend.”
The transfer is culled from a brand new 4K scan of the film's original camera negative and has been approved by the director of photography, Mark Irwin, for the first time ever.

For decades, Fright Night Part 2 has remained one of the most elusive and beloved sequels in horror – a film cherished by fans for its gothic atmosphere, unforgettable villains, and pitch-perfect blend of humor and terror. This event marks the first public screening of the brand-new 4K restoration, giving audiences a chance to see the film with a clarity and presentation it has never had before.

More importantly, the night is about rallying around one of horror’s own.

“Our hearts go out to Erich and his family. We are proud to have our restoration premiere to help support him,” shared Don May, Jr. of Synapse Films. “Everyone's life has been affected by cancer, we are grateful for this opportunity to help him and his family through this very difficult time.”
Erich Gamache is described by the event's organizers as a longtime friend and supporter within the horror and genre film community, known for his passion for physical media, genre cinema, and the people who keep its spirit alive. The screening is being organized to bring fans, friends, and the community together and show their support.
So whaddya say? Let's rally in support of Erich. Cancer sucks, but supporting one of our fellow horror fans rules. We're all thinking of you, Erich and cheering you on all the way.
