Penned by modern horror master Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini (Drive) and directed by Eden Lake‘s James Watkins, Clayface stars Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries (The Gentlemen) in the titular role, as well as Max Minghella (Spiral: From the Book of Saw) and Naomi Ackie (Blink Twice).

Based on the shapeshifting supervillain of the same name introduced back in Detective Comics #40 back in 1940, the R-rated Clayface centers on an actor, Matt Hagen, who injects himself with a substance to remain relevant, only to find out that he can reshape his face and form, becoming a walking piece of clay.

Clayface has been described as “having shades and structure” of David Cronenberg's 1986 body horror classic The Fly, while DC's James Gunn previously teased that the R-rated pic is a “complete horror film”. By the looks of today's first teaser, we're inclined to believe him.

Clayface is produced by The Batman' s Matt Reeves, as well as DC Studios bosses Gunn and Peter Safran, and Lynn Harris. Check out an official first poster below, and stay tuned for more as we get it.
