Be careful who you bring into your house, because they might just be deadly. FANGORIA is excited to partner with Saban Films to debut an exclusive clip from Feed, a new vampire tale that hits digital this week, proving that just like the bloodsuckers themselves, their legend will never die.
Feed is written and directed by Marco van Belle, and stars Grace Collender, Clinton Liberty, Daisy Jelley, Niamh Hogan, Rhys Mannion, and Oskar Smith. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
A weekend intervention for grieving Orla turns lethal when her blood awakens the Dearg-Due, an ancient vampire. As the creature infects her friends and shatters their minds, it offers a soul-crushing choice: become the vampire’s next host to be reunited with her dead family or destroy the monster and lose them forever.
Our exclusive clip features Orla and her friends discovering the Dearg-Due, a creature from Irish folklore who’s somewhere between a vampire and a siren, seducing men before draining them of their blood. Everyone except Orla is suspicious of the woman, who appears to them as a grimy, naked, mysterious woman — and they’re right, as the Dearg-Due suddenly lunges at them and turns their relaxing weekend into a marathon of terror.
In mythology, the Dearg-Due was an Irish woman known across the country for her beauty, only to be ripped away from the love of her life by her father, for an arranged marriage to a rich man. Eventually, his mistreatment led her to die by suicide, only to rise for her grave to seek revenge on her husband and father, draining them dry. Whether Feed will follow this story exactly remains to be told, but either way, it’s a refreshing take on the classic vampire tale.
Feed arrives on digital and VOD on August 14.
