Nick Frost is capping off a killer year with Get Away, a hilarious family vacation horror comedy from director Steffen Haars (New Kids) – and we've got an exclusive clip today of Frost facing off against a Midsommar-style cult.
Hitting theaters this Friday, December 6 via Shudder and IFC Films, Get Away also stars Aisling Bea (This Way Up), BAFTA nominee Sebastian Croft (Heartstopper, Game of Thrones) and Maisie Ayres (Apple TV+'s Criminal Record).
Written by Frost, the horror-comedy follows a dysfunctional family on a vacation to a Swedish island, who find their trip becoming an increasingly creepy, violent nightmare:
The Smith familyโs much-needed vacation to the remote Swedish island of Svalta takes a dark turn when they arrive during preparations for a mysterious local festival that celebrates a dark history.
Unsettled by the unfriendly locals and strange rituals, they try to make the best of their trip, stubbornly enjoying the islandโs isolation and natural beauty. However, as the festival looms closer, the family realizes something far more sinister is unfoldingโespecially when they discover that a serial killer is on the loose.
Fango's own Angel Melanson, who saw Get Away at this year's Fantastic Fest, had nothing but love for the film, saying it “utilizes a folk horror backdrop to great effect, and the ensemble cast is phenomenal across the board. Hits all the right notes, and Frost is, of course, a delight.”
Enjoy our exclusive clip of Get Away below, and catch it in theaters this Friday.
