After a successful run here on FANGORIA in 2022, Rob Saucedo’s Where Wolf is getting a sequel. The graphic novel The Curse of the Where Wolf hits shelves everywhere this summer, and we have an exclusive preview of the new installment’s cover just for our readers.
Written by Saucedo with illustrations by Debora Lancianese and letters by Jack Morelli, the 362-page full color epic will be available for advance purchase at this year’s Comicpalooza in Houston, running May 22 to 24. The book’s synopsis is as follows:
Larry Chaney has just saved a Texas furry convention from a werewolf hellbent on turning the gathering into an all-you-can-eat buffet. He was supposed to be a hero; unfortunately, things didn't quite work out the way he'd hoped. Now, Larry finds himself dealing with lycanthropy – growing hair in new and unusual places and dealing with a hunger that can never be satisfied. The only cure for werewolfery is death, and Larry isn't quite ready to kick the bucket yet, so if he's going to survive the next full moon, he'll have to figure out how to live with the CURSE OF THE WHERE WOLF.

“With Where Wolf, I wanted to tell a whodunit set in a furry convention so the story was pretty contained within a very specific setting and genre,” Saucedo says. “With Curse of the Where Wolf, I wanted to celebrate everything I love about the possibility of comic books. Curse of the Where Wolf is a funny book, in every sense of the phrase, but it's also an earnest look at a person's struggle to become a better version of themselves, especially when the alternative is to become a literal monster. Fans of the first book are going to find the same mix of horror and comedy, but I think they're going to be even more surprised with the book's heart and humanity.”
Saucedo will also be embarking on a screening and book signing tour this fall, bringing popular werewolf films to independent theaters across the country. More details on those events will follow from Encyclopocalypse Publications.
The Curse of the Where Wolf hits shelves on August 7.
