Ever wanted to smell like burning plastic and murderous intentions? Well, now you can, because perfume company Xyrena just launched two new fragrances inspired by horror’s deadliest couple, Chucky and Tiffany. Both officially licensed, Child’s Play inspired fragrances are now available in special, never-before seen VHS perfumes bottles.
Designed by Xyrena founder Killian Wells, the new bottles faithfully recreate the classic VHS tape shape, with a matte black finish and a small transparent reel window that allows for a peek at the fragrance inside. Each also comes in a classic VHS clamshell case, with a sticker kit featuring video store decals, reel overlays, and cap wraps that allow fans to personalize their bottles.
The Chucky-inspired scent, Good Guy, features notes of “plasticky peach and lavender,” as well as saffron, cardamom, and actual melting polypropylene as a nod to the ending of Child’s Play 2. It’s available in a standard edition for $120 USD, or a special lenticular edition, featuring exclusive artwork on its packaging for $148 USD, and each purchase has a 1 in 100 chance of getting a “Play Pals Yellow” chase bottle.
Tiffany’s scent, “Bad Gal,” has notes of “waxy candied black cherry lipstick,” along with leather, cigarette smoke, animalic musk, and warm amber. This scent doesn’t have a specific special edition but does retail at a whopping $280 USD, with a 1 in 100 chance of getting an “Eat Your Heart Out” pink chase bottle.
Child’s Play is just the latest horror film to inspire one of Xyrena’s scents. Known for their homages to classic horror films, the company has also produced perfumes inspired by The Thing, American Psycho, Jaws, Creepshow, and more. They also have their own unique scents, including “Dark Ride,” “Cosmic Woods,” and “Basic Witch.”
