Okay, time’s up. You’ve seen us banging the drum on here and on social media and in your inbox, but this is really it, y’all: voting closes for the 2026 FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards tomorrow night at 11:59 PM Pacific.

How can I get you to the polls? What must I do? I could tell you what a great year it’s been for horror, and how we’re spoiled for choice in every category, but that’s obvious just from looking at the ballot.

I could tell you that this is where we, the horror community, get to make right all the snubs and oversights of the other awards bodies… but actually the Oscars did all right this year. Michael B. Jordan got an Oscar for playing a vampire, and Aunt Gladys took home the Supporting Actress gold. Shit, maybe the mainstream folks are catching on; at this point we just don’t want them stealing our thunder.

No, what I think you need to hear today is that you, the 2026 horror fan, have an important role to play in the legacy, history, and continuum of horror fandom. These here Chainsaw Awards began in 1992 (read more about the history of the awards here), and in the 34 ensuing years, each editorial team of FANGORIA has done its level best to make sure the voices of our readers are heard.

But we’re only half of that equation. To be heard, you need to speak. And by speak, I mean vote. Are you gonna sit on your ass because you think these awards are fixed? If they were fixed, why am I here, now, asking you to vote? (And if they are fixed, why do people who don’t show up to accept often win? I’d rig the shit out of that if I could.) Are you gonna not vote because you think one nominee already has it all sewn up? My hand to god, one year someone won an acting award by three votes. Your voice TRULY matters here. So stand up and be counted, like the fella from AC/DC says.

You can, should, and will vote here. It’s fast, it’s easy, you get a little “I VOTED” graphic at the end. And voting will give you this rapturous, giddy feeling of investment when you watch the FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards on Shudder this October 25th. Enough is enough. Get involved with that. LFG. TYSM.
