Emily Expedition

Researcher of strange history. Explorer of stranger places.

Contributing Writer at FANGORIA

Emily Harriss is the explorer, researcher, and creator behind Emily Expedition, a platform devoted to charting the strange, overlooked, and intriguing stories hidden throughout our history. With a background in anthropology and archaeology, she travels the world exploring ancient sites, unusual traditions, forgotten places, and the stories that often fall outside the traditional history books.

Her work has taken her from living with the Mentawai people on Siberut Island in Indonesia to participating in archaeological excavations in Spain, exploring abandoned diamond towns in Namibia, and investigating crypts, catacombs, folklore, and unusual historical sites across Europe and beyond.

Through Emily Expedition, Emily combines fieldwork, travel, and historical research to make archaeology, anthropology, and the stranger corners of human history more accessible to a global audience.
