“Imagine a world teetering on the edge of collapse, where survival is a struggle, alliances are fragile, and danger lurks at every turn.” Soon, you’ll be able to hear it, as Encyclopocalypse Publications, purveyors of original horror fiction, novelizations old and new, and fearsome audiobooks have translated a popular genre comic to radio-play form.
They’ve teamed with Strickland Media to bring Mad Cave Studios’ The Last Wardens to the audio realm, releasing April 29 on major audiobook and digital platforms, including Spotify. The first chapter is distributed by Aethon Books, a specialist in science fiction and fantasy titles.
Created by Amit Tishler and Elliot Sperl, The Last Wardens is “the gripping tale of Danielle Pryer, a young woman who gets caught in a supernatural battle that forces her to choose between everything she holds dear and the fate of the world.”
The audio drama “takes a unique approach by telling the story through its protagonist’s point of view in present tense. Listeners will be pulled into Danielle’s mind as horrors unravel around her in real-time, offering a fresh take on her clash with the dysfunctional team known as The Wardens and the horrible threats they face.”
The voice cast includes Felicia Day (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, Eureka), Anjali Bhimani (Overwatch, Apex Legends), Mark Meer (Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age Series), Ginny Di (YouTube sensation, singer, and cosplayer), Shiva Negar (American Assassin, Lost Journey), and Matthew Watterson (X-Men '97, Doom Eternal, Fallout 4).
