HELL OF A SUMMER

Even though Hell of a Summer isnโ€™t really a road movie, directors Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk are making it into one. The Stranger Things star and his co-director are teaming up with Neon for a special promotional tour across the United States, giving fans a special preview of the film ahead of its April release.

The tour will take the directors to four cities next week, including Phoenix, Austin, Nashville, and Atlanta, where theyโ€™ll appear with star Fred Hechinger for exclusive screenings of the film accompanied by a Q&A session after. Tickets for each screening are available on Neonโ€™s website, but are quickly selling out, so if you want your chance, act fast!

Hell of a Summer also stars Abby Quinn, Pardis Saremi, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Krista Nazaire, Matthew Finlan, Julia Lalonde, Daniel Gravelle, Julia Doyle, Susan Coyne, Rosebud Baker, and Adam Pally, with Wolfhard and Bryk also making appearances as well. The filmโ€™s logline is as follows:

Hell of a Summer follows 24-year-old camp counselor Jason Hochberg (Hechinger), who arrives at Camp Pineway thinking his biggest problem is that he feels out of touch with his teenage co-workers. What he doesnโ€™t know is that a masked killer is lurking on the campgrounds, brutally picking counselors off one by one.

Both directors cited films like Shaun of the Dead as inspiration for the upcoming horror-comedy, but also Wes Anderson titles like Bottle Rocket and Rushmore, as well as Super Bad, indicating that there may not be as much blood and guts as some might be hoping. โ€œI think what we kind of tried to do was just share the kind of films that Finn and I referenced so much in the writing of it and in the preparation for directing it, specifically with comedy,โ€ Bryk told Collider when the film premiered.

If you canโ€™t make it to any of the tour screenings, Hell of a Summer hits theaters on April 4.
