Fresh off her role in Joker: Folie ร  Deux, singer, actor and fashion diva Lady Gaga has joined the cast of Wednesday Season 2, Entertainment Weekly reports today.

Gaga will join Jenna Ortega, Gwendoline Christie, Luiz Guzmรกn, Catherine Zeta-Jones and original Wednesday herself Christina Ricci in the second season of Tim Burton and Netflix's record-breaking show. Also joining the second season in an already stacked cast are Christopher Lloyd (notably, Uncle Fester from the live action Addams Family movies!), Joanna Lumley, Haley Joel Osment and Steve Buscemi.

Entertainment Weekly report that while plot details are still under wraps, Gaga is said to be filming currently somewhere in Europe.

Back in 2023, Ortega previously shared that Gaga was her dream addition to the cast of Wednesday‘s second season:

“I'm sure Netflix would love that […] I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way, so, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other.”

Furthermore, the now legendary viral TikTok Wednesday dance was set to a sped up version of Gaga's song “Bloody Mary”, which makes her casting extra serendipitous.

Wednesday won't be Gaga's first foray into horror television, as the star previously ate up the role of The Countess in Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story: Hotel back in 2015, and American Horror Story: Roanoke in 2016.

While we don't know a whole lot about Wednesday‘s second season, we do know that Ortega, who is also on board as executive producer, promises that season two will ditch the romance and lean way more into horror. Yay!

Stay tuned for more updates on Wednesday Season 2 (and Gaga's role) as we get them.
