For being one of Hollywoodโ€™s most beloved family legacies, Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon havenโ€™t worked together all that much, nor have they worked with their children, whoโ€™ve gone on to become actors in their own regard. But all thatโ€™s about to change, as Variety reports that the couple are set to direct and star in Family Movie, a new horror comedy that will also co-star their kids, Travis and Sosie Bacon

From a script by Dan Beers, Family Movie will chronicle the real-life family of filmmakers as a set of fake ones, whose low-budget slasher becomes a real crime โ€” and not just at the box office โ€” when a body turns up on set. The four realize that the only way to keep their film on track is to cover up the murder, even if it means letting everything spiral totally out of control.

All four members of the family will produce Family Movie through Mixed Breed Films, alongside Norman Golightly for Dark Castle Entertainment. โ€œThere may not be a more compelling Hollywood family than the Bacons,โ€ Golightly told Variety. โ€œWe canโ€™t wait to bring their unique dynamic to the screen and then wildly turn it on its head for audiences.โ€

Sedgwick and Bacon have been married for nearly forty years, but have only starred together in a miniscule few projects. Their last was the double bill of Cavedweller and The Woodsman nearly twenty years ago, though theyโ€™re also set to star alongside each other in Connescence, directed by Michael J. Weithorn. Meanwhile, Kevin Baconโ€™s been starring in plenty of horror films lately, including MaXXXine and They/Them, while the coupleโ€™s daughter Sosie made a name for herself as the lead of Smile, the sequel to which just hit theaters last month, starring Naomi Scott.
