TERRIFIER 4 Will Be An Epic End To The Art The Clown Saga

Director Damien Leone teases that some crazy things will happen in his next sequel.

This past weekend saw the release of Terrifier 3 in theaters, bringing the sadistic Art the Clown back to the silver screen two years after Terrifier 2 became a surprise breakout success. Well, as is so often the case in the world of horror, success leads to more of that successful thing. To that end, director Damien Leone has already confirmed that Terrifier 4 is in the works. What happens from there? Letโ€™s not get ahead of ourselves just yet but Leone has teased that the next installment will be epic, crazy and quite possibly the end of Artโ€™s cinematic saga.

During a recent conversation with Variety, Leone addressed the cliffhanger ending viewers are left with in Terrifier 3. Naturally, at this stage in the game, the filmmaker isnโ€™t going to say much. He did, however, offer some vague details about the next sequel in the series, which sounds like it will be even more wild than what came before – and thatโ€™s really saying something. Hereโ€™s what he had to say about it:

โ€œIt will certainly be an epic showdown, an epic closure to this Art the Clown saga. The idea Iโ€™m toying with in my head would probably be in some regards the most experimental, so I canโ€™t dive into it too much. Some really, really crazy things will happen in the next one.โ€

What we can say with relative certainty is that Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting will assuredly move quickly to get this film going asap. Terrifier 3 has become a shocking hit, topping the box office on opening weekend with close to $19 million. Given its tiny production budget and even tinier marketing budget, itโ€™s already into profits and will be raking in the dough for weeks/months/years to come. Since this one takes place during Christmas, it could become an annual tradition for horror fans. In short, we probably wonโ€™t have to wait too long to find out more  in regards to what Leone has up his sleeve.

Itโ€™s worth mentioning that in a separate interview, Leone recently said that Terrifier could become a five-movie franchise. Again, in the world of horror, this would not be remotely surprising. Maybe it will be more of a โ€œPart 1โ€ and โ€œPart 2โ€ situation, sort of like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but for a murderous clown instead of a murderous purple alien. Whatever the case, donโ€™t expect Leone to pump the brakes when it comes to pushing the envelope. After all, if it ainโ€™t broke, donโ€™t fix it.
