Jennifer's Body legend Megan Fox is heading back into the genre game with Subservience, a sci-fi thriller that sees her playing an artificially intelligent fembot, with its first trailer dropping today courtesy of XYZ Films.

Directed by S.K. Dale (who previously directed Fox in his directorial debut Til Death) and written by Will Honley (Escape Room: Tournament of Champions) and April Maguire (Lost Girls),ย Subservience hits digital and on demand on September 13.

The R-rated thriller follows:

[…] Alice (Fox), a lifelike artificially intelligent android, who has the ability to take care of any family and home. Looking for help with the housework, a struggling father purchases Alice after his wife becomes sick. Alice suddenly becomes self-aware and wants everything her new family has to offer, starting with the affection of her owner โ€“ and sheโ€™ll kill to get it.

Alongside Fox,ย Subservience stars Michele Morrone (365 Days), Madeline Zima (Californication, Twin Peaks: The Return) and Andrew Whipp (The Fourth Kind).

Subservience was filmed and produced at Bulgaria's Nu Boyana Studio back in January, 2023.

In a statement to Deadline, director Dale expressed his excitement at working with Fox again:

โ€œThis film will show a side of Megan that we have never seen before. The cast that we are assembling will elevate this emotionally-charged story and I cannot wait to show you all what we have in store,โ€

Deadline also previously reported that producers on Subservience are Millennium Mediaโ€™s Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, Tanner Mobley, Les Weldon, Rob Van Norden, and Yariv Lerner and Jon Berg. Millennium Mediaโ€™s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, and Boaz Davidson are among executive producers.
