Following the success ofย Mayfair Witches andย Interview with the Vampire, AMC are expanding their Anne Rice Immortal Universe withย The Talamasca, a new series following a supernatural secret society.

Variety, who reported the news earlier today, lets us know thatย The Talamascaย is said to premiere in 2025, and follows:

…a secretive society called the Talamasca thatโ€™s responsible for tracking and containing witches, vampires, werewolves and other creatures. Members of the Talamasca have already been introduced in โ€œAnne Riceโ€™s Interview With the Vampireโ€ and โ€œAnne Riceโ€™s Mayfair Witches.โ€

John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) and Mark Lafferty (The Right Stuff, Halt and Catch Fire) serve as co-showrunners and executive producers, with Hancock directing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ย production on the six-episode show is due to start in the fall in Manchester, England.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, had this to say of the upcoming series:

โ€œThis is a story weโ€™ve been developing and wanting to tell from the earliest moments of this franchise, focused on a fascinating and compelling secret society that has already appeared in both of our existing Anne Rice series, the Talamasca ย […] As with all of these shows, we are thrilled to have such a high level of talent involved, represented here by John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty, and of course working closely with producer Mark Johnson as the creative head of our Anne Rice Immortal Universe.โ€

Currently in its second season,ย Interview With the Vampire is racking up rave reviews left, right and center, with critics praising the show's style and unapologetically queer themes.

Meanwhile, the second season of Mayfair Witches, starring Texas Chainsaw 3D's Alexandra Daddario, is currently in production in Dublin.

More details onย The Talamasca, including casting and release date are yet to be revealed – so keep your eyes peeled for the updates as we get them.
