Baba Yaga has come to our shores, and she’s not holding back. AMC+ released a new trailer for their upcoming series Yaga, featuring Noah Reid and Carrie-Anne Moss in a story that reimagines the Slavic legend of a magical, mysterious — and oftentimes dangerous — old woman.

Also starring Hudson Williams and Clark Backo, Yaga is based on the play by Kat Sandler, who serves as writer and showrunner on the series. The series also stars Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle, and Hiro Kanagawa, Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris, and Sam Krochmal. Its synopsis is as follows:

YAGA follows Rapp, a private investigator who arrives in the small coastal town of Whittock, to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park. He finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson, a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine , and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic.

Yaga is executive produced by Sandler and Moss alongside Mackenzie Donaldson and Andrew Miller, with David Frazee and Rachel Talalay co-directing the show. The series, which is produced by Crave — the same company that gave Williams his breakout role in Heated Rivalry — will have its world premiere this Thursday at the Toronto International Film Festival. The series will also be featured at this year’s New York Comic Con on October 9, where a panel featuring the cast and crew will reveal exclusive content ahead of its two-episode premiere.

Yaga premieres on AMC+ on October 23, with weekly episodes premiering on Fridays before a two-episode finale on November 27.
