Following a hit festival run that included showings at Fantastic Fest, Beyond Fest, Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, Soho Horror Film Festival, Panic Fest and more, Avalon Fast’s witchy new horror movie Camp hits theaters on June 26 via Dark Star Films, and we’ve got an exclusive clip to celebrate.
Starring Zola Grimmer, Alice Wordsworth, Cherry Moore, Lea Rose Sebastianis, Ella Reece, Austyn Van De Kamp, Sophie Bawks-Smith, Izza Jarvis and Aidan Laudersmith, Camp marks Fast’s second feature following 2022’s Honeycomb, and is billed as “a story of impossible redemption, modern witchcraft, and duels that repeat themselves like cursed cycles”. A full synopsis reads:
Emily is the cause of two tragedies early in her life her dad suggests she go to a Camp for troubled youth to ease her guilt. When Emily arrives, she is taken in by the other counselors, they accept her as she is and wrap her in a veil of peace & forgiveness. Emily stands at the forefront of a new kind of life, but there’s a voice out there in the woods she can’t ignore, telling Emily to go home.

In a director’s statement, Fast details that Camp is inspired by a story that ” took me somewhere deep and starless and left a mark I never knew how to heal”:
I would tell this story over and over again, guided by an energy and a need to understand. Now, I don’t feel like talking at all. I feel like sitting down in dark spaces and watching others watch this movie. Through making this, something has changed. The story no longer feels as if it can be spoken; CAMP will speak for me, as it seems I have lost my words
