After revealing that fans will be able to solve a mystery with the Scooby-Doo gang at this year’s event, Universal Studios Hollywood is rolling out more details for their upcoming Universal Fan Fest Nights. They’ve announced a whole host of exclusive menu items and merchandise that fans can pick at the event, which runs select nights from April 23, giving fans the chance to chow down on some of their favorite fictional snacks.
To celebrate Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters: Mystery on the Backlot, fans will be able to purchase the cartoon’s iconic Scooby Snacks to chow down on, as well as a special Universal Monsters hot dog measuring a whopping twenty-two inches. But if you’re really hungry, you can indulge in the munchies just like your favorite detective dog with the Super Shaggy Sandwich, a stacked club sandwich piled high just like the ones made by its namesake.
Also included on the Fan Fest menu are items inspired One Piece, Harry Potter, Sailor Moon, and Super Nintendo World — fans can chow down at Sanji’s Galley, located at Hollywood & Done, grab a bento box featuring spicy tuna onigiri, or pick their favorite Yoshi color with an exclusive smoothie.

But if you aren’t interested in snacking, there’s still plenty to do. Horror fans can check out Mystery on the Backlot, an experience featuring the whole Scooby gang as guests are cast as “extras” in a fictitious monster movie hijacked by “The Phantom Director.” After he unleashes the Universal Monsters, it’s up to guests and the Mystery Inc. gang to uncover the Phantom’s identity, exploring some of Universal’s most famous outdoor sets, including those used to film Frankenstein and The Wolf Man.
Other events at this year’s Fan Fest Nights include a One Piece Grand Pirate Show taking over the park’s WaterWorld show venue, as well as a Yoshi celebration in Super Nintendo World, and the hunt for a lost hippogriff in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Additionally, a Dungeons & Dragons walk-through experience will be available in the park, featuring Xanathar, a full-size puppet created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
This year’s Universal Fan Fest Nights will take place on April 23-25 and the first three weekends in May. For more information and to purchase tickets, you can check out Universal Studios Hollywood’s website.
