IllFonic's Halloween game (one of our most anticipated titles of this year!) just got a brand new trailer that gives a better look at the gameplay of the 1v4 asymmetrical horror experience in action.
In Halloween the game, players can step into John Carpenter’s iconic slasher as either a civilian fight to protect Haddonfield or as The Shape, Michael Myers himself, allowing players to terrify and attack others. The first map, Haddonfield Heights, puts players right in the heart of the town that serves as the franchise’s centerpiece, with front yards and side streets that allow them to explore every nook and cranny and face what’s hiding in the shadows. We'll let IllFonic give you the fulll lowdown:

Per a new statement from IllFonic:
“Multiplayer in Halloween is a 1v4 asymmetrical horror experience that pits the residents of Haddonfield against the shape of pure evil, Michael Myers. In this quintessential Slasher Simulator, our playable cast of Civilian characters desperately attempt to save their neighbors and themselves from the omnipresent Boogeyman, while Michael fixates on stalking and slaying his targets. Halloween provides familiar elements fans of the genre know and love, but we’re incredibly excited to pull back the curtain and unveil more details that demonstrate our commitment to delivering our most robust, dynamic, and terrifying multiplayer offering.
Halloween is a legendary film with a genre-defining legacy and our mission has been to bring the film’s unsettling sense of dread to our asymmetrical horror sandbox. By empowering players to control the tension and stage the scares, we’re building a multiplayer experience designed with replayability at the forefront.”
The gameplay of Halloween is similar to that of Dead by Daylight, a popular asymmetric horror game that’s featured plenty of horror icons in its past, including Michael Myers himself, as well as Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, and the kids from Stranger Things. Halloween also serves as the successor to games like Friday the 13th: The Game and Evil Dead: The Game, both of which recently bit the dust and had their servers shut down.
Halloween drops on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and the Steam store on September 8, 2026. Check out the game’s official website for more details, and stay tuned for updates on character progression, character traits, customization, proximity chat, and more gameplay features.
