The premiere of The Vampire Lestat (better known as Interview With the Vampire Season 3) is fast approaching, and after months of teasing, we can finally get our hands on the first single from the worldโ€™s only immortal rockstar. Ahead of the summer premiere of Season 3, AMC just dropped โ€œLong Face,โ€ sung by Lestat de Lioncourt himself.ย

โ€œLong Faceโ€ is written by Daniel Hart, who composes all the music for Interview, and sung by star Sam Reid, whose immortal vampire Lestat has gone from pining French loverboy to all-out glam rock god. The music echoes the early sounds of David Bowie โ€” post โ€œSpace Oddityโ€ and pre โ€œLetโ€™s Danceโ€ โ€” with a guitar reminiscent of T. Rexโ€™s โ€œ20th Century Boy,โ€ evoking a very 1970s style and sound for the famous vamp going into the new season.ย

โ€œLong Face is the first song I wrote for The Vampire Lestat,โ€ Hart said. โ€œWe decided early on to make David Bowie a big influence for Lestatโ€™s musical style and persona, and thereโ€™s certainly some Ziggy Stardust in this song. But we chose Bowie not only for his glam era, but because he was a chameleon. Expect Lestat to change his musical colors throughout the season as well, as he discovers how to remain true to himself, and how to express that truth on stage every night.โ€

The Vampire Lestat sees the return of not only Reid as Lestat, but fellow Interview stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, and Delainey Hayles, as well as new addition Jennifer Ehle. The seasonโ€™s synopsis is as follows:ย

Resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller โ€œInterview with the Vampire,โ€ the Vampire Lestat (Sam Reid) sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat canโ€”by starting a band and going on tour. Gabriella. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed and others we canโ€™t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. All Feels Amplified.

The Vampire Lestat premieres this summer, and โ€œLong Faceโ€ is available to stream wherever you get your music.ย
