Following its premiere at Sundance last Friday, genre giant NEON has nabbed Australian queer horror movieย Leviticus from writer/director Adrian Chiarella.
NEON confirmed the news via Instagram earlier today, following Deadline‘s scoop yesterday that the pic was part of a deal worth around $5 million. NEON will take taking global rights on Leviticus, and will represent foreign rights.
In Chiarella's feature debut, Joe Bird (Talk to Me) and Stacy Clausen play star-crossed teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most โ each other.
Leviticus also stars Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak) in her first movie role in three years, alongside Jeremy Blewitt, Ewen Leslie (The Nightingale), and Davida McKenzie (Silent Night). Samantha Jennings (Talk to Me, Bring Her Back), Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook, Talk to Me), and Hannah Ngo produce the buzzy pic.
Described by IndieWire asย Heated Rivalry meetsย It Follows (we're already sold), Leviticusย is already quite the hit with critics for its fictional spin on a very real-life horror, that of conversion therapy.
No news yet on when we can expect to seeย Leviticus in theaters, but watch this space. For more, here's all the horror movies we're excited for that are still to come in 2026.
