Fresh off her well-deserved Oscar win, Amy Madigan's witchy Aunt Gladys is getting her own movie in Zach Cregger's Weapons prequel, which now officially has a working title and co-writer.

Per Deadline, who reported the news exclusively earlier today, Cregger will pen the prequel script alongside Zach Shields (Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Krampus), with the New Line and Warner Bros. pic currently going by the working title of… drumroll please… Gladys.

Weapons‘ prequel was first reported back in August of last year, after the multi-story horror epic starring Madigan, Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, Alden Ehrenreich and Austin Abrams racked up a cool $270 million worldwide.

No plot or cast details on Gladys have emerged yet, but we can probably place a pretty good bet on the prequel film following the titular witchy aunt in the years prior to her reign of terror across Maybrook, kidnapping children and snapping twigs and such. Cregger and Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee (Barbarian) and Miri Yoon are returning to produce.

Cregger currently has his hands full with his upcoming take on Capcom's legendary survival horror gaming series Resident Evil, hitting theaters on September 18, so we wouldn't expect to see more on Gladys for a hot minute. Suffice to say though, this just shot straight to the top of our most-anticipated list.
