Peacock and A24's Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake has added William Catlett (Abigail, Lovecraft Country, Never Let Go) in a leading role, Deadline announced yesterday.
Catlett joins previously announced star Linda Cardellini, who plays the role of Pamela Voorhees, the mother of Friday the 13th‘s masked maniac Jason.
Per Deadline, Catlett will play a character called Levon Brooks, with no other details to report as of now.
Following a troubled start, pre-production on Crystal Lake is now finally under way, with Brad Caleb Kane, (the upcoming It: Welcome to Derry) serving as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series, and Victor Miller (original Friday the 13th scribe) onboard as an executive producer along with Marc Toberoff, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, and Stuart Manashil.
Specifics regarding the plot remain totally under wraps but we do know that it will flesh out the story of Cardellini's Mrs. Voorhees, a mother who had given up a singing career to raise a special needs child, and takes a dark turn when she loses her son.
