Horror in 2026 got off to a hugely strong start withย 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, but if you missed the critically acclaimed sequel in theaters, you can now catch the latest entry in theย 28 Days Later franchise from the comfort of your very own home.

Nia DaCosta (Candyman) takes the reigns for the follow-up to Danny Boyle'sย 28 Years Later, with Ralph Fiennes, Alfie Williams and Jack O'Connell returning to star as survivors of the Rage Virus that ravaged Britain almost three decades prior.

An official logline forย The Bone Temple, also written by 28 Days Later and 28 Years Later scribe Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation), reads:

In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship โ€“ with consequences that could change the world as they know it โ€“ and Spike's (Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (O'Connell) becomes a nightmare he can't escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival โ€“ the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.

28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy executive produces, and maybe more…

A big hit with critics and audiences alike, 28 Years Later: The Bone Templeย currently sits at a hugely impressive 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest ranking entry in theย 28ย series. We here at Fango loved it, if you couldn't tell by our extensive coverage.

Unfortunately,ย 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple didn't have a whole lot of success at the box office. While Sony has officially given the greenlight to the third film in the trilogy, the poor financial reception might mean it's on shaky ground. One way we can show up for the film and help to ensure that Sony doesn't get cold feet is to grab yourself a Digital copy or rent the film on your platform of choice.

You can also put in a pre-order for the upcoming physical media release of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,ย with a 4K UHD SteelBook, Blu-ray and DVD release (artwork below) following on April 17. Special features on the first two include commentary with DaCosta, behind the scenes, deleted scenes, bloopers and more. The DVD release comes with commentary and behind the scenes.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is now available on Prime Video, as well as Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube Movies & TV for $24.99. If you need to catch up with the other films in the franchise, here's where you can watchย 28 Days Later and more. And then when you've finished, if you loved 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,ย here's 28 similar horror movies to sink your teeth into next. Don't say we don't treat you well.
