Someone’s been naughty over at Universal Pictures! The studio just released the first trailer for Violent Night 2, the action sequel featuring the return of David Harbour as Santa Claus, who’s less jolly than expected, and much more eager for a fight.

With Tommy Wirkola returning to direct from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, Violent Night 2 also stars Jared Harris, Kristen Bell, Joe Pantoliano, Daniela Melchior, Andrew Bachelor, and Maxwell Friedman. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Not-so-jolly Saint Nick suits up again to take on a ruthless gangster terrorizing the merchants of the Silver Bell Mall. But when Santa forgets the true meaning of Christmas, he finds himself in the heart of a lively mall community in desperate need of his help. Sapped of his magic, he’ll need another way to take on the goons threatening the mall, and time is running out. Santa has to rediscover his faith in goodness and call in some last-minute reinforcements from the one person no baddie wants to tangle with: Mrs. Claus.
Violent Night 2 is produced by Kelly McCormick and David Leitch under their 87North banner. The film is Wirkola’s second film premiering this year, after his shark thriller Thrash drowned when it hit Netflix, and one of two upcoming horror/thriller projects in the works for Harbour, who’s also set to star in A Head Full of Ghosts, based on the Paul Tremblay novel of the same name.
Violent Night 2 hits theaters on December 4.
