The Mystery Inc. gang is going to have their hands full next month as a part of Universal Studios’ Fan Fest Nights. New details have been revealed about the after hours event’s special Scooby-Doo crossover experience, which pits the classic cartoon characters up against some of Universal’s most iconic creatures.

Universal’s Fan Fest Nights “celebrates the exhilarating world of fandom through immersive and interactive in-world experiences,” features numerous interactive experiences this year, including Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters: Mystery on the Backlot. Inspired by the classic series, fans will have an opportunity to step into a live-action adventure with the Mystery Inc. gang that begins on the Studio Tour tram, taking them backstage to the Universal backlot.

Per Universal, the exclusive Fan Fest experience’s description — which also includes special photo ops with Scooby and the gang — is as follows:

In this clever adventure, guests will set off on location via the Studio Tour, cast as “extras” in a fictitious monster movie until a mysterious villain, known as The Phantom Director, hijacks the production by unleashing The Universal Monsters – Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein and Wolf Man – throwing it into chaos and bringing the filming to a halt.

Equipped with a Mystery Manual at their disposal, guests will join forces with Scooby-Doo and his pals Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy in an attempt to uncover the Phantom Director’s identity. Guests will explore Universal’s world-famous outdoor film sets at their leisure, including the cobblestone streets of Little Europe and the infamous Court of Miracles, renowned as original filming locations for such historic Universal horror films as Frankensteins (1931) and The Wolf Man (1941). As they uncover a series of clues, it will lead them to solve the mystery, identify the villain and restart production.

Other events at this year’s Fan Fest Nights include a One Piece Grand Pirate Show taking over the park’s WaterWorld show venue, as well as a Yoshi celebration in Super Nintendo World, and the hunt for a lost hippogriff in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Additionally, a Dungeons & Dragons walk-through experience will be available in the park, featuring Xanathar, a full-size puppet created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

This year’s Universal Fan Fest Nights will take place on April 23-25 and the first three weekends in May. For more information and to purchase tickets, you can check out Universal Studios Hollywood’s website
