One of the most iconic zombie films ever made is returning to theaters this summer. Well Go USA has announced that they’re bringing Train to Busan back to theaters this August to celebrate its tenth anniversary, featuring an all-new 4K print that brings all of director Yeon Sang-ho’s gore and grime to terrifying life.
Originally released in 2016, Train to Busan stars Gong Yoo, Ma Dong-seok (better known to American fans by his Western stage name, Don Lee), Choi Woo-sik, and Kim Su-an, pitting them all against a terrifying virus that begins to spread on a high-speed train, forcing them to fight for survival against a horde of zombies and each other. The film originally premiered at the Cannes Film Festival before going on to become a global hit and one of the most defining zombie films of the genre.

But that’s not the only thing coming to haunt US theaters this summer. Well Go USA has also acquired Sango-ho’s new film, Colony, which hits theaters just two weeks after Train to Busan. Starring Gianna Jun, and Koo Kyo-hwan, the film’s synopsis is as follows:
Colony follows Professor Se-jeong as she is thrust into a terrifying hellscape when a mutating virus is unleashed during a biotech conference, forcing authorities to seal the facility to contain the outbreak. Unable to escape, Se-jeong and a group of survivors must fight to stay alive as the infected undergo horrific transformations and threaten to spread the virus.
“No one delivers zombie films quite like Yeon Sang-ho. Train to Busan redefined the genre for audiences around the world, and we’re excited to bring it back to theaters in 4K for its 10th anniversary,” said Doris Pfardrescher, President and CEO of Well Go USA. “With Colony, he takes that intensity and scale even further, delivering a bold and terrifying new vision for fans.”
Train to Busan returns to theaters on August 14, and Colony premieres on August 28.
