Another year of Cannes may be over, but we still have plenty of behind the scenes genre buzz from The Séance, You Know Films' first-of-its-kind digital show about the market’s genre film buzz with partnership from FANGORIA and Paramount Scares.
As part of The Séance, hosts Blair Bathory and Gigi Saul Guerrero got to chat with Baskin and Sayara director Can Evrenol, whose latest genre pic, The Turkish Coffee Table, played as part of Cannes' Fantastic Pavilion.
A remake of Caye Casas' pitch black Spanish thriller The Coffee Table , The Turkish Coffee Table (titled Cam Sepha in its native Turkish) stars Alper Kul as a new father who brings home a gaudy coffee table that, unbeknownst to him, will change the lives of he and his wife forever. If you haven't seen The Coffee Table, that's all you need to know. Seriously, don't look up anything else before you check out Evrenol's version.
While chatting with The Séance, Evrenol dishes on what he calls “the most WTF movie of Cannes” (we can believe him!), Baskin‘s horror legacy, the Turkish horror industry and much more. Watch our exclusive chat with Evrenol below and to keep up to date with all wrap-up updates coming from The Séance, make sure you're keeping an eye on and following FANGORIA's socials – Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
