It's hard to believe that, after so long, we're actually getting teasers for Macon Blair's The Toxic Avenger, but we finally are, with today bringing a fresh look at the Troma reboot.
Two years after its Fantastic Fest premiere, unrated The Toxic Avenger will hit theaters on August 29 via Cineverse.
In Blair's reimagining of the 1984 cult classic, Peter Dinklage stars as downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze, who, after a freak accident, transforms into the mutant vigilante we know and love as Toxie:
“Armed with his signature mop, the unlikely hero battles freaks, gangsters and corrupt CEOs while trying to save his relationship with his son. The story channels the subversive gonzo energy of the original Toxic Avenger while delivering a fresh, contemporary twist,”
Starring alongside Dinklage are Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Julia Davis, Taylour Paige and Luisa Guerreiro, who provides Toxie's physical performance.
In today's new teaser, poor old Winston Gooze finds himself at the mercy of a pounding headache, for which he's prescribed a miracle drug, BTH or Bi-Toxiphetamine Hydroxylate. Chaos ensues, and we couldn't be more hyped.
