The Monkey, Osgood Perkins' follow-up to this year's Longlegs, gets a brand new redband teaser today courtesy of NEON, who are releasing the film in theatres on February 21, 2025.
Starring Theo James (The White Lotus), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Elijah Wood (Maniac, The Lord Of The Rings, Bookworm), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin OโBrien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends) and Sarah Levy (Schittโs Creek), The Monkey is based off a short story by Stephen King, from his collection Skeleton Crew:
In The Monkey, when twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their fatherโs old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths starts occurring all around them. The brothers decide to throw the monkey away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey for good before it takes the lives of everyone close to them.
The Monkey was produced by genre legend James Wan (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring), incase you had any doubt we're sure to have a new horror hit on our hands.
From today's new teaser, it seems Perkins wasn't joking about this film being totally different from Longlegs – The Monkey looks terrifying in completely different ways, promising some “really f***ed up” deaths and making good on that ominous message we saw in last week's promotional poster.
See for yourself below, and watch The Monkey in theaters next February.
