THE MONKEY Continues To Nail The Poster Game

Osgood Perkins' hyper-dark horror comedy hits theaters on February 21 via NEON.

Following last week's hilarious Hardcore-inspired poster drop, NEON continues to prove they're the best in the marketing game with another genius poster for Osgood Perkins' upcoming bloody horror-comedy The Monkey.

The Monkey, based on a Stephen King short of the same name included in his 1985 collection Skeleton Crew, hits theaters on February 21 and stars Theo James (The White Lotus), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Elijah Wood (Maniac, The Lord Of The Rings, Bookworm), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin Oโ€™Brien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends) and Sarah Levy (Schittโ€™s Creek).

In The Monkey:

When twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their fatherโ€™s old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths starts occurring all around them. The brothers decide to throw the monkey away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey for good before it takes the lives of everyone close to them.

Produced by horror master James Wan, The Monkey recently broke records when its first trailer became the most watched trailer for a non-MPA studio independent horror movie. Given that Perkins' previous feature, serial killer thriller Longlegs, became NEON's highest-grossing film and the highest-grossing independent film of the year, The Monkey looks set to rack up similarly successful numbers at the box office.

Today's new poster, which parodies Pier Paolo Pasolini's Medea from 1969 (see the source material below), continues the hilariously blunt messaging The Monkey has leaned in to since hitting us with its first tagline, “Everybody dies, and that's fucked up”, promising “Outrageous violence, shocking gore and unspeakable tragedies”… sign us up!
