Hitting theaters on June 13, Mike Flanagan's genre-bending The Life of Chuck gets a heartwarming final trailer today from NEON that once again seems to confirm we're in for another tearjerker from the mind who already had us weeping with The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass.

Based on the short story of the same name by Stephen King, originally published in the collection If It Bleeds, The Life of Chuck is made up of three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles โ€œChuckโ€ Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumor at 39 and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.

Tom Hiddleston, Jacob Tremblay and Benjamin Pajak all star as the titular character at different stages of life, with a stacked cast also including Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Matthew Lillard, Carl Lumbly, Samantha Sloyan, Harvey Guillรฉn, Kate Siegel, Annalise Basso, Mia Sara, David Dastmalchian, Heather Langenkamp, Rahul Kohli, Matt Biedel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Michael Trucco, Violet McGraw and Molly C. Quinn. Nick Offerman provides his vocal talents in the role of the Narrator.

Following a People's Choice Award win at Toronto International Film Festival last year, The Life of Chuck has been racking up rave reviews across the fest scene, with Collider even calling it a strong contender for โ€œthe best Stephen King film ever madeโ€œ. King himself just took to Bluesky to urge everyone to see it when it opens (as if you weren't already convinced!)

Flanagan knows a thing or two about great King adaptations, having previously directed Gerald's Game, and is currently working on a series adaptation of The Dark Tower and Carrie for Amazon.
