Talk to Me star Sophie Wilde is set to lead a new sci-fi thriller with what is without a doubt the best title we've heard all year.
Soon You Will Be Gone And Possibly Eaten (right?!) is directed by Russian filmmaker Egor Abramenko (Sputnik, A24's upcoming Altar) from a script by Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins (Hellraiser, The Night House), which is turn is based on a short story by Nick Antosca (Apple TV's upcomingย Cape Fear series).
An official logline for Soon You Will Be Gone And Possibly Eaten reads as follows:
โRob and Sabile, a young engaged couple, who head to a secluded mountain resort to take their vows and step into the new chapter of their shared lives. What was planned as a joyous wedding attended by family members takes a different turn when unexpected guests crash the ceremonyโ
Wilde plays Sabile, while additional casting is currently in progress. Per Deadline, production design on Soon You Will Be Goneย comes from Masha Slavina who previously collaborated with Abramenko on Altar and Sputnik and, most critically, alien design comes from Monkey Rave. So yes, it seems those ‘unexpected guests' might not be of this earth.
Abramenko confirms as much with the following statement:
โI was blown away by Nick Antoscaโs short story. From the get-go, it was a very fresh take on the alien genre, which is a really rare thing.โ
Since her breakout turn in the Philippou Brothers' 2022 debut feature, Wilde has been racking up quite the number of horror and genre credits. She's also set to star alongside Caleb Landry Jones, Josh Hutcherson and Hunter Schafer in the upcoming bachelor party horror from The First Omen‘s Arkasha Stevenson, as well asย October, the upcoming Halloween-themed feature fromย Green Room‘s Jeremy Saulnier.
Look out for more on those titles, plus Soon You Will Be Gone And Possibly Eaten,ย as we get it.
