Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Sinners. For a myriad of reasons, this is easily one of the most anticipated horror movies coming our way in 2025. For one, itโs a big studio original vampire movie. That doesnโt come around all that often these days. It also hails from director Ryan Coogler, of Black Panther and Creed fame, who also penned the screenplay himself. To top it all off, heโs once again partnered with Michael B. Jordan, who plays not one but two characters in the film. It only gets better from there, as this teaser reveals. Check it out.
Thereโs a lot to love here. The period setting. The out-of-context visuals. The most nervous cigarette rolling scene youโre ever likely to witness. Thereโs also nothing wrong with seeing Michael B. Jordan firing a tommy gun to close things out. Visually, itโs rather stunning and it looks hugely impressive. Weโve also got a brand new poster for the film, which you can check out below. It looks like Coogler and all involved brought their A game. The brief synopsis for the film reads as follows:
โTrying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.โ
Warner Bros. won a bidding war for the Sinners package earlier this year, but everything was quite mysterious at the time. Rumors circulated that Jordan would be playing brothers but that was about it, save for the vampire bit. So this teaser is the first true confirmation weโve had of anything, really. This is the first time that Coogler has directed a non-Marvel film since Creed in 2015. Itโs just extra special that one of our most celebrated living filmmakers decided to tackle a big-budget horror film.
The cast also includes Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee, True Grit), Jack OโConnell (Ferrari), Wunmi Mosaku (Passenger), Jayme Lawson (The Woman King), Omar Benson Miller (True Lies) and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods). Coogler is also on board as a producer alongside Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. Ludwig Gรถransson, Will Greenfield and Rebecca Cho serve as executive producers. Coogler's behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Oscar-winning production designer Hannah Beachler, editor Michael P. Shawver, Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Gรถransson and Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter.
Sinners is set to hit theaters on March 7, 2025. For more, check out our recap of the first day of Fantastic Fest from Austin, Texas.
