Sam Raimiโ€™s long-awaited return to horror has finally gathered its leading stars, and it looks like the Evil Dead director isnโ€™t pulling any punches. Deadline reports that both Dylan Oโ€™Brien and Rachel McAdams have both joined Send Help, which Raimi is set to direct and produce for 20th Century Studios.

For what sounds like a horror version of Six Days Seven Nights, Send Help is a โ€œsurvival horror thriller about two colleagues who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, itโ€™s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.โ€ The film is also set to star Chris Pang, though other details about the film are slim.

Raimiโ€™s most recent directing effort was a stint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, helming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the closest the family-friendly franchise has ever strayed to proper horror. That film also starred McAdams, though this will be Raimiโ€™s first proper horror film since Drag Me to Hell in 2009, and is written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.

Send Help will be McAdamsโ€™ first film since 2023โ€™s Are You There, God? Itโ€™s Me, Margaret, and her first proper horror film since Wes Cravenโ€™s Red Eye, co-starring Cillian Murphy. Oโ€™Brien, however, dipped his toe into terrifying waters much more recently with Maxโ€™s Caddo Lake, a thriller also starring The Starling Girlโ€™s Eliza Scanlen and produced by M. Night Shyamalan. Zainab Azizi will also produce the film alongside Raimi.

Send Help has not yet set a release date. Stay tuned to FANGORIA for more news.
