For those that wish they could experience a horror film without actually being in any danger, the folks at Beyond Killer Games have just the thing for you. Pre-orders are open now for Prom Night: The Game, based on the iconic 1980 slasher starring Jamie Lee Curtis, putting players right in the middle of the bloody action.

Retailing for $49 USD, the new board game designed by Anthony Masi serves a similar function to Beyond Killer’s retro game series, which features titles like My Bloody Valentine and Silent Night, Deadly Night. The co-op survival game forces players to work together to keep the masked killer from reaching Hamilton High’s prom, and comes complete with eight characters, weapons, prom night tickets, roadblocks, and more.

Featuring a game board with silver foil borders and spot UV on its retro disco balls, anywhere from one to four players can choose between their favorite characters to play as, including Curtis’s Kim, Nick, Kelly, Lou, Slick, Wendy, Jude, and Mr. Hammond, as played by the iconic Leslie Nielsen.

The first one hundred pre-orders for the game will also include a free trivia expansion, which allows players to integrate a special round if the killer gets too close to the prom. As a group, you can answer trivia questions about the beloved film to put a setback in front of the villain — but don’t worry, if you aren’t one of the first hundred buyers, the expansion will be available to purchase for $20 USD.

Released forty-six years ago, Prom Night was directed by Paul Lynch, serving as Jamie Lee Curtis’s third film role, made after her breakout in Halloween but before it garnered any sequels. The film itself developed a cult following over the years, spawning three sequels — including the equally beloved Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II — as well as a 2008 remake.
