Ahead of its World Premiere at New Orleans' Overlook Film Festival, XYZ Films have released the first-look poster and trailer for Australian religious horror Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism.
Directed by Nick Kozakis (Plague) from Alexander Angliss-Wilson's screenplay, Godless follows:
Lara is a woman tormented, torn between science and faith. Pushed by her husband to seek treatment from a congregation of zealots, a ruthless exorcist will try to save her soul by putting an innocent woman through hell.
Godless - which is said to be inspired by 'true events' - stars Georgia Eyers (Violett), Dan Ewing (Love and Monsters), Tim Pocock (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Rosie Traynor (Lake Mungo), and Eliza Matengu (Thor: Love and Thunder).
As stated, Godless will premiere as part of the Overlook's stacked line-up, which director Kozakis is understandably very excited for:
“I am thrilled that Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism has been chosen to screen at the world’s best genre festival, joining the ranks of some of my favorite filmmakers Ana Lily Amirpour, Scott Derrickson, Chris McKay, Robert Rodriguez and Len Wiseman.”
Having acquired the North American rights, XYZ Films will release Godless on VOD on April 6, 2023.
