Straight out of Sundance Film Festival’s announcement of the upcoming slate of films that will feature in the festival next January comes the first look at Infinity Pool, Brandon Cronenberg’s (Possessor, Antiviral) upcoming sci-fi thriller. NEON will co-finance and executive produce the feature, as well as handle US distribution.

Infinity Pool stars 2022’s horror favorite Mia Goth (X, Pearl) and Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd (The Northman) as a couple, James and Em, who are;

…young, rich, in love, and on vacation. Their all-inclusive resort boasts island tours and gleaming beaches. But outside of the hotel gates waits something much more dangerous and seductive, beyond the edge of paradise.

Infinity Pool was originally set for an NC-17 rating, but has been edited for an R rating for ‘graphic violence, disturbing material, strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use, and some language.’

The image released by Sundance earlier today shows a couple – presumably Goth and SkarsgÃ¥rd – donned in disturbing, twisted masks and sat in a fancy car. Little more is known about the highly anticipated upcoming feature, but with two of the year’s most lauded actors at the helm and Cronenberg’s directorial prowess, Infinity Pool should have just shot straight to the top of everyone’s 2023 watchlist.
