Her Private Hell, Nicolas Winding Refn's first full feature following 2016's The Neon Demon, will officially Out of Competition at the Cannes Film Festival this May, with today bringing a synopsis and first look at star Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets, Heretic) in action.

Also starring Charles Melton (May December, Warfare), Kristine Froseth (The First Lady), Havana Rose Liu (Bottoms), Dougray Scott (Irvine Welsh’s Crime), Diego Calva (Babylon), Aoi Yamada (Perfect Days), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool & Wolverine), and Hidetoshi Nishijima (Drive My Car), the Tokyo-shot Her Private Hell follows a woman searching for her father as a strange mist engulfs their city and unleashes an elusive, deadly presence.

Refn previously referred to Her Private Hell as an original story full of “film “glitter and a lot of sex and violence”, if you weren't already sold by the synopsis and star cast. NEON will distribute the film, with further details on a wider release to come.
