Monster High’s Skullector line is taking a turn away from its usual high-fashion horror dolls for something a bit more fantastical. Today, Mattel Creations announced that the latest doll in the special edition line will be a Skeletor doll, based on the iconic villain from the ‘80s animated series Masters of the Universe.
Retailing for $65 USD, the Skullector Skeletor doll (say that five times fast) features a colorful version of the maniacal villain, with a green face, flaming red eyes, pink and purple armor, and blue skin. She comes with custom detailed armor, featuring fashionable claw-like boots and Skeletor’s signature staff, along with a gruesome green snake crawling up her calf. Arm guards and a cape complete the look that’s perfect for conquering Eternia or plotting mischief in Castle Greyskull.

This haute couture version of Skeletor is just one of many in the brand’s Skullectors line, which also includes high-fashion versions of characters from The Lost Boys, The Shining, Edward Scissorhands, and more. Most recently, they released a set featuring the Magician’s Assistant and Miss Argentina from Beetlejuice, complete with an Afterlife waiting room to pose them in.
The new doll is just one of many Masters of the Universe-themed toys announced today by Mattel, harkening back to the 1980s when every kid had to have a He-Man figure in their collection. Also announced today is a “Battle for Castle Greyskull” LEGO set and a Laser Power He-Man figure, as well as figure packs featuring He-Man, Battle Cat, Skeletor, and Panthor designed by renowned artist James Jean.
All of these new products align with the release of the upcoming Masters of the Universe film, the second live-action version of the toy line turned animated series. This film, directed by Travis Knight, stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man alongside Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Alison Brie, and Morena Baccarin, and premieres in theaters this June.
