Update 2/6 06:45 PT: Konami has clarified that the Silent Hill title in development is in fact Silent Hill: Townfall, differing from previous speculation.

The life of a Silent Hill fan is full of ups and downs, and while Christophe Gans' Return to Silent Hill might have left audiences and critics cold, Konami is wasting no time in capitalizing on the goodwill generated by Silent Hill f by revealing that a brand new title in the iconic survival horror gaming series is in development.

Per a report of Konami's latest earning results (brought to our attention by the good folks over at Bloody Disgusting), the new Silent Hill game currently in the works is separate from Bloober Team's previously announced Silent Hill 1 remake:

As a continuation of our ongoing efforts, we are currently developing a brand-new title in the SILENT HILL series, as well as a remake of the first installment, SILENT HILL.

It should also be noted that this mysterious unnamed new Silent Hill title is different from the previously announced Silent Hill: Townfall from Annapurna Interactive and No Code Games. First revealed all the way back in 2022, no news has emerged yet on Townfall, although rumors abound of a 2026 release date.

After leaving the franchise dormant for many years, following the success of Bloober's Silent Hill 2 remake and the Japan-set Silent Hill f, Konami claimed that gamers could expect a new Silent Hill title every year, and if this report is anything to go by, it looks like they're making good on that promise.

Whether this new Silent Hill game will also be set outside of the fictional town of Silent Hill per Konami's previous statement remains to be seen. Fans would do well to remember that Silent Hill f was not the first time the action has taken place outside of the titular foggy town, with good portions of Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4: The Room (not to mention the later non-Team Silent developed games) also doing so.

On the other hand, it could be that Konami is in development on another remake in the Silent Hill series. Aside from Silent Hill 1, we wouldn't be surprised if Konami and Bloober Team were giving other games in the beloved series a fresh coat of paint.

Look out for more on Konami's upcoming new Silent Hill title as we get it, and for more, here's 15 other horror video games we're excited for to come in 2026.
