Oscar-winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All At Once) and Lili Reinhart (Hustlers, Riverdale) are set to star in Bad Boy, a new horror movie told through the eyes of a dog.
Directed by Jacob Chase (Come Play, The Girl In The Woods) from a script by Travis Braun, Bad Boy is due to start filming in Canada this August, Deadline reveals.
In Bad Boy:
Gary is a good boy who loves his new owner, Cameron (Quan). He gets treats and belly rubs and life is great. Gary isnโt allowed in the basement though. And even if he was, he canโt unlock doors. But thereโs a girl (Reinhart) in the basement. And she canโt come out to play. Gary doesnโt know it, but heโs her only chance.
Deadline also report that casting for the pup, believed to be a Terrier, is currently under way.
Bad Boy is produced by Longlegs‘ Dave Caplan and Divide/Conquerโs Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath, with Black Bear is repping international rights.
Here's what director Chase has to say about the upcoming horror-thriller:
โI love dogs. More than people. And Iโm tired of seeing horror movies where the dog is the first one to die! Theyโre not just pets, theyโre our best friends, and I believe itโs time for a horror film where the dog is the hero. Bad Boy is about loyalty, instinct, and the incredible bond between humans and dogs. Itโs going to be a highly original, grounded, deeply suspenseful fresh take on a horror thriller. And Iโm thrilled to collaborate with Ke and Lili on two roles unlike anything theyโve played before.โ
Look out for more on Bad Boy as we get it.
