Justin Long just can’t catch a break, it seems. The Barbarian star and horror mainstay has joined the cast of yet another survival thriller: Coyote, also starring Kate Bosworth. The film, set in the Hollywood Hills, will be directed by Colin Minihan, from a script by Tad Daggerhart and Nick Simon.
Not much is available on what will go down in the film, other than that Long and Bosworth will play a couple trapped in their home during fire season in Los Angeles, only to find themselves “fighting for their lives against a pack of crazed coyotes” — as if the wildfire wasn’t enough of an LA horror story to begin with. We do know that production began this week, and will shoot on location in Colombia.
Coyote will be produced by Nathan Klingher and Ford Corbett for Gramercy Park, James Harris of Teashop Productions, and Jib Polhemus of Source Management. Roman Viaris and Ruzanna Kegeyan serve as executive producers alongside Jason Carpenter, Adam Mirels, Robbie Mirels, Tyler Gould, Michael Sklut, Simon, Daggerhart, Jijo Reed, Long, and Bosworth.

Coyote is one of Long’s many upcoming and current horror projects, including the recently released Spin the Bottle, as well as the indie horror thriller Night Patrol, which he’ll co-star in alongside CM Punk. Bosworth had a voice role in Barbarian opposite Long, as has a recent string of horror films and thrillers under her belt, including House of Darkness, The Enforcer, and The Locksmith.
No release date for Coyote has been announced.
