Just a few days after becoming available on Letterboxd's new Video Store service, existential Gen Z horror-thriller It Ends has been acquired by NEON for a theatrical release in 2026.
Directed by Alexander Ullom and starring Phinehas Yoon, Akira Jackson, Noah Toth and Mitchell Cole, It Ends follows a group of friends who, on a late-night food run, become trapped on an infinite highway with otherworldly terrors lurking beyond. Confined in their Jeep Cherokee, they must decide whether to accept their fate or attempt escape.
Following the film's premiere at SXSW earlier this year, It Ends enjoyed a successful festival run Telluride Horror Show, Overlook Film Festival, the UK's Celluloid Screams and many more, racking up a ย 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes as it did so. What makes the filmย extra impressive is that Ullom and co. started making the film at just 22 years old, with the cast being sourced from Instagram and an early investor coming on board after a VR poker game with Ullom. Maybe the kids are alright after all.
It Ends marks another exciting acquisition for NEON, who remain key players in the horror scene thanks to continued collaboration withย Longlegs‘ Osgood Perkins, Chris Stuckmann'sย Shelby Oaks, Michael Shank'sย Together, Julia Ducournau'sย Alpha and Damian McCarthy'sย Hokum on the slate for 2026.
No news yet on a specific release date forย It Ends, but we'll keep you posted.
