The sequel to Chris Nash's In a Violent Nature gets its first trailer today from Independent Film Company and Shudder as part of IGN's Fan Fest, taking us to camp for a slice of undead slasher chaos:
First confirmed last year, with producer Peter Kuplowsky promising โdouble the kills”, In a Violent Nature 2 brings back Ry Barrett as Johnny, a vengeful, undead killer who embarks on a bloody rampage after a group of teens steal a golden locket that awakens his spirit:
In the second film, Johnny heads to a summer camp, where he crosses paths with a young, outcast camper who is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party.
Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald MacLean Jr. and Evan Marsh complete the cast this time around, presumably as Johnny's poor victims. Interestingly, from today's teaser it looks like we might get to see things through their eyes, as well as Johnny's.
In a Violent Nature, described as an โambient slasherโ, uniquely showcased Johnny's POV rather than his victims, ย and immediately racked up audience hype among horror fans following release via Independent Film Company and Shudder for its grisly, practical effects and one particularly imaginative FANGORIA Chainsaw Award-winning kill that had us, shall we say, hooked. We've been told there are multiple kills on par with that one in the sequel, so bring your barf bags.
Producing In a Violent Nature 2ย areย Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer, with Nash and Michael James Regan, alongside co-producer Liane Cunje.
